In 2010 Simpson was selected as the contractor for this exterior facade repair and rehabilitation project consisting of joint sealant replacement and rout & seal of pre-cast wall panels.

PROJECT SPECIFICS

Location

1777 North Kent Street, Building 632 | Arlington, VA

The work on the Rosslyn Plaza North project included the removal and replacement of joint sealant, route and seal of precast wall panels, vertical patch repairs ranging from 1/2″ to 1-1/2″ in depth, and widening of panel joints. Existing window glazing gaskets were removed and replaced with new headless gaskets and silicone glazing was installed around full glass lite perimeter of all windows. All sealant joints were removed at full perimeter of ribbon window assemblies and two lines of silicone were installed. Sealant work was completed using Dow Corning sealants and preformed silicone shapes. A twenty year product warranty was provided. Simpson was responsible for providing all overhead protection in accordance with all applicable building codes. This building was occupied throughout the completion of the project. Communication between Simpson’s staff and the on-site engineering staff and management was key in coordinating the completion of this work with minimal disruption.
