PROJECT SPECIFICS

Location

Richmond, VA

Simpson won the bid for the replacement of topping slab, bollards, slate pavers, and waterproofing at a plaza deck at the Old City Hall in Richmond. The replacement of the hot rubberized asphalt waterproofing has also been complicated by detail modification of the structural slab. Our project management team has worked with the state’s architect to overcome these changes in detail to provide the owner with a well designed and executed project. This project presents unique challenges considering it is in the state capitol of Richmond, not to mention the historical nature of the 19th century building and considerations that must be made for traffic and pedestrian control. Noise restrictions have also been a challenge. Our management staff has worked hard to overcome these constraints in a difficult downtown area.
