Our Story

At Simpson Unlimited, we’re proud to be industry-leading building exterior experts thanks to the example that Greg Simpson set in 1993. Since opening our doors, he’s sought to prove that a top-to-bottom roofing and building exterior services company can specialize in each and every service. Greg never believed that any job was too small or that he needed to choose a lane. Instead he remains devoted to providing top-shelf performance and a quality of work that speaks for itself regardless of the task at hand.

The “Simpson,” as you might have guessed, comes from the surname of our founder, but the “Unlimited” defines the scope of the building services that we can provide. Over a lifelong career in building repair and restoration, Greg worked in every hands-on role the industry offered, learning each trade personally. He identified a lot of the industry’s fundamental inefficiencies and dreamt of doing things better. In 1993, he took his last paycheck and founded Simpson Unlimited.

Greg’s way of doing business — wearing every hat, staying personally hands-on, and constantly building and reinforcing relationships — is integral to the Simpson Unlimited DNA. The front-facing, no-job-too-small mantra has been our distinguishing factor since day one, and continues to reinforce our attention to detail, unrivaled emergency response, and industry-leading knowledge.

Across decades and state lines, Simpson remains the go-to exterior building solutions firm in all areas of commercial restoration in Washington D.C., Baltimore, Richmond, and the larger Virginia and Maryland metropolitan areas. From roofing repair and replacement to complete exterior waterproofing, masonry restoration to caulking, specialty coatings to building façade repair. . . Simpson does it all and at a level of professionalism you simply can’t find elsewhere. Thanks to our top-to-bottom building expertise, you won’t waste any more time chasing separate contractors.

There may be a host of building services providers in the area, but Simpson is the only high quality one-stop-shop that can service any of your building’s needs.

Unparalleled customer service has reinforced our loyal customer base for over 25 years, but that’s not our only special sauce — high-quality workmanship, an impeccable safety record, technical and precise estimation, and top shelf project management are foundational to every task we perform. Not to mention we have the capacity to take on a wide range of projects, covering the spectrum from basic repairs all the way to multi-million-dollar projects.

Today we proudly employ a large, multicultural staff with decades of expertise in their fields, many of whom have been with us for 15+ years. And even though we’re nearly 30 years into the job, our hunger to grow as a business, develop and educate our staff, and further solidify ourselves as industry leaders through our unique playbook of best practices remains as ardent as ever. Choosing Simpson is opting for excellence and guarantees a top shelf job delivered in a timely manner. That’s the only way we know how to work.

And it’s how Simpson keeps you covered.

We are replacement, repair, and restoration professionals for your entire building. One call, one contract, turnkey commercial building restoration. It’s as simple as that.

  • What is EPDM Roofing and How Much Does It Cost?
by Simpson Unlimited on December 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm

EPDM roofing, or more formally “Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer” roofing, is a type of single-ply roofing membrane that has remained a popular, time-tested staple of the commercial roofing industry since the 1960’s. EPDM is readily available and relatively straightforward to install, meaning less labor costs than other more complex roofing systems. Thanks to its traditional installation options and easy repairs/maintenance, it’s an economical roof option with lifespans that can exceed 30 years.
