Jefferson Drive at 12th Street, N.W. | Washington, D.C.
This 21,000 square-foot commercial roof replacement, performed between the end of 2009 and the fall of 2010 included the replacement of the commercial roofing system on the main roof level of an occupied, operating art gallery in Washington, D.C. The existing roofing was removed down to the structural decking. Due to the residue of the former commercial roofing system, the entire concrete deck had to be scarified prior to the installation of the new commercial roofing system. A multiple-layer hot rubberized asphalt membrane roofing system was installed in an IRMA (or inverted) roofing system assembly, including the installation of filter fabric and the redistribution of gravel ballast. Fabricated copper roof flashings were installed to complete the project.
