Simpson’s parking garage restoration capabilities are exhibited in this full restoration project of a parking garage servicing an office building in the Fairfax/Chantilly area.

PROJECT SPECIFICS

Location

Fair Ridge Drive | Fairfax, VA

The first scope item on this project was to replace the many deteriorated lifting anchor points in the pre-cast perimeter of the parking garage with new cementitious material. Once that was completed, the entire upper deck was shot blasted to provide clean concrete surface to adhere new materials. Over one thousand linear feet of sealant was replaced on the parking deck, and a new canted cove joint was installed at the perimeter. Furthermore Simpson was contracted to replace the perimeter window sealants at all of the windows and at the base perimeter of the building between the concrete and brick facade. Miscellaneous concrete repair was also performed at these locations to provide a suitable substrate for the new material to bond to. BASF Sonneborn sealants were used exclusively on this project. A Sonneborn deck coating system was installed over the surface of the garage completing the project.
