Simpson Unlimited was contracted to install the commercial roof on a government facility on Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall in 2014.

PROJECT SPECIFICS

Location

Arlington, VA

Contract Amount

$200,000+

It’s not often you get the opportunity to install the same commercial roof on the same building twice, but in 2014 Simpson was contracted to install a modified bitumen membrane roofing system on a building that we had previously installed the commercial roof on two years earlier. The Government had decided to add a third story addition to the MCX at Joint Base Myer – Henderson Hall, and in the Spring of 2014 Simpson installed the torch-applied Johns Manville roof without a hitch. The installation consisted of a tapered polyisocyanurate insulation system, combined with a 1/4″ Securock coverboard. The membrane system was a two-ply torch-applied Dynaweld system by Johns Manville. There was a troublesome detail between the addition and the existing building, to which we were able to install a modified JM Expand-o-Flash detail to ensure a watertight completion to the project. Simpson has installed commercial roofing on many industrial, governmental, and military installations in some of the most demanding situations over the years, which means we can provide installation, repair, and replacement for practically any project.
